2024 Leadership In Action is Now Accepting Applicants!

Kizuna is so excited to announce our Leadership in Action program is gearing up for its second year!

Funded by the California State Library, this free program is a new and improved take on our previous Leadership program for high schoolers! During a 10-week period, our young cohort will learn firsthand from community leaders through guided tours, presentations, discussions, hands-on activities & more! Students will plan, collaborate, design, and execute group projects which address civil liberties infringements that are currently happening OR have happened (so as to prevent their happening again). Groups will then be given stipends to fund and carry out their civil liberties projects that will bring positive change to their communities.

The doors of MISE | εΊ— at JACCC swing wide open on Saturday and Sunday, October 28 -29 from 11AM-5PM. We invite you to join us!

The Toshizo Watanabe Exhibition Center on the Plaza level has been transformed to showcase exquisite, artisanal products from Tsubamesanjo, Niigata prefecture. Elegant metal works that range from handmade sake and beer cups to Japanese knives forged by legendary craftsmen are featured. It is an opportunity to show these artisans our support, attend workshops, taste sake from famous Niigata, and purchase unique, one-of-kind holiday gifts.

Meet the artisans who have traveled from Japan to greet you and share their life’s journey. Many are carrying forward generations of family history by continuing to make these traditional products over hundreds of years.

MISE | εΊ— is opening to the public! Please sign up for workshops on both days, October 28, Saturday and Sunday, October 29! We welcome you - join the fun and excitement!
