Community Thrives is a brand new Kizuna program that seeks to answer the question, “How might Kizuna empower high school students to effectively lead community projects that help Little Tokyo thrive?”
Developed after recognizing the enormous impact the coronavirus has had on Little Tokyo businesses, organizations, and residents, this 6-week program teaches high school students leadership and organizing skills and brings in community leaders to facilitate workshops and share about how they are supporting the community during this uncertain time.
Our three program pillars include were developed to ensure that high school students develop the leadership skills necessary to implementing projects at a high school and university level, continue their connection to the Little Tokyo community, and understand the importance of self-care.
